Carbon spoiler

Just wondering has it ever been tried. i'm NOT talking about an aftermarket spoiler.

Just a standard GTI spoiler covered with carbon. i think it would look very good if done right.

These sheets of carbon can be got on ebay.

ive wanted to do this, heard about wet laid carbon, looks like whatever it covers is solid carbon as its real carbon fibre.

I heard that stuff is very difficult to put on,might take a couple of try's otherwise if it held up alright it could be good!

shud be easy enough, just like putting window tint on a window really, take ur time, put it on wet and smooth out with a card. make sure u have no joins or creases visible

Problem is you have to stretch it over loads of folds, whereas a window or bodypanel is more or less flat...

place down beside me has a new process now where they can dip any item to put a finish on it and one of them in carbon fibre, so if the carbon sheet's look good i might go get a price for my rear spoiler
