Clock Needles

Anyone know if they can be removed from the dials themselves? anybody got an old set they would be willing to try it on?

tried it on my P1 dials, got really bored, used two teaspoons to remove it
there is a spring that returns the needle back to starting position, if the needle is pulled out, the spring stretches = not good
Im now doing 80mph when i should be doing 70 .... fun
