Clutch on way out?

Noticed last night when i change gear the clutch feels like it is sticking to my foot when i lift my foot off it and it is doing it almost all the time and if im in neutral i can tap the clutch pedel and it goes down a tiny bit. Does it sound like i need a new clutch or can it get tightened and all be fine?

spray some WD40 on the release arm in the engine bay, this should stop the sticking., as for the tap it could just be the free play in the pedal, as there is meant to be some slack before the clutch begins to disengage.

i doubt you need a new clutch, if you did you would know about it.

Dunno what you've got buddy lol.

Best way to check if clutch is on the way out (bad) is to stick it into fourth @ around 30mph...let the clutch bite and come up and fully out with the pedal and then nail the throttle...if it slips...it's fucked.

No I dont think your clutch is on its way out as my n16 does the same thing in neutral. A good way to see if its slipping is to find a fairly steep hill and accelarate up it in 3rd or 4th and see if your speedo goes up as quickly as your rev counter. If the rev counter goes up a lot faster than the speedo then it might be slipping.

A foolproof way of testing the clutch is to apply the handbrake fully then depress the clutch and put the car in second gear , then keeping the revs up let the clutch out . If the clutch is okay the engine will stall, if it keeps going the clutch is knackered . I usually heel and toe the brakes and accelerator too to make sure the car doesn't overcome the handbrake .
