Clutch slave cylinder needs replacing. Do it on own?

Should I do it on my own or go to a garage. I've never replaced car parts but I don't ming getting down and dirty and I can follow instructions quite well.

Can I replace this on my own or should I get a garage to do it?

Thanks.

Can I do it with just a jack?

What's the part number for a 54 reg SE manual 1.5 petrol?

Which brand and how much should I expect to pay?

Thank you :)

I have to advise that the mechanic said that it is LEAKING. I'm not sure if it needs replacing or just adjusting.

Final question, are there step by step instructions anywhere?

Thanks again.

I recently replaced mine on my DCi was much easier than I first thought it would be. I would suggest loosening the fluid cable bolt slightly before undoing the bolts for the cylinder. We crimped the hose before taking this off & only issues were lack of space on the DCi to reach the bolts.
Refitting is reverse of removal.
I found a YouTube video on how best to install, fit & bleed system which made the whole process so much easier.

Thanks. Which brand is the best? I've found a blueprint one here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Blue-Print-...&sr=1-3&keywords=clutch+slave+cylinder+almera is that good?

Got mine from motor factors and it had the Nissan machined off so clearly was a refurbished part but came in a blueprint box. For roughly £60
