Clutch "too low" - how much is a good replacement?

Hi guys. Sorry for posting here, I wasn't sure where else to post.

long story short, a mechanic says that my clutch is "too low" and I smell burning plastic when I rev sometimes. Also, I feel it stalls too easily sometimes (but it could be just me). The (2nd hand from a dealer, bought a month ago) car is still under warranty and the T&C states that they will cover the clutch under a mechanical fail but I have to take it to them which will cost me a tenner each way.

1-Is it likely that the dealer will replace the clutch or does it have to completely fail (to the point of not being able to drive) before the warranty kicks in?
2-As I will have to pay for labour (but not parts) how much should I expect to pay?
3-Is it worth getting it replaced by the dealer or should I get a quality part? The clutch was replaced at 60 k 18 months ago. Either they fitted a bad quality part, or I have been driving very badly (could I have been driving so badly that it was fine a month ago and needs replacing now?).

THANKS ALL!

60k is a fair amount of mileage for a clutch. Some drivers can wear them out after 20k, some after 140k. Mostly depends on driving style.
