Coilovers

Hey

I'm trying to find out prices/makes etc. & where to buy coilovers, but i'm not having much luck

Will be for N15 GTi

I have also tried searching the forum, again without any luck.

Thanks........

tein do a set for the n15.

everybody raves about the teins down here in australia. not too stiff, and not too soft.

Yeah Tein are good, about 950 for them not including installation...thats in euros and brand new. K-sport i think also do coilovers for an N15, roughly around the same price i think, too.

Pay your membership fella's theres LOADSA threads about these, various types, and group buys that will save you cash!

B14 Nissan Sentra coilovers fit the N15 so that widens your search.
TEIN are the dogs if money is no object.
Daiyama seem to have quality problems at the moment.
k-Sports are ok apart from excessive spring rates.....although someone has swapped in some softer springs.

Searching for coilovers gave me 500 results.

Thanks for the info peeps!

I did search the forum for coilovers & i started to sift through it but my computer is so damn slow so i gave up!

I dont understand why coilovers are so expensive for Japanese cars whereas for VW's & other German cars they are a lot cheaper!?

OxideGTi - Cheers, i will have a look into that!:)

id say its because there alot more of a following for german cars ie the golf for instance

Well for honda's ya can get coilovers for like 250e cuz they keep the existing shocks or something, dont know the exact details but unless u use your car for track days or whatevr i suggest you just get it lowered if thats what you're after, alot cheaper and gives the car a nice look, too.

Also the the whole DUB look is its gotta be slammed to its tatts, so every kiddie with a 1litre polo is now snapping up some cheap coilovers for like £250 off ebay.
For that cash though, makes you wonder how quality the items are...

Yeah, i suppose everyone modding a VW wants it sitting on the floor so coilovers are higher in demand for those cars.
I agree- the quality must not be great either :(
I have lowered my car already on -40mm spax springs but i want it lower! My 17"s look too small in those massive arches! Also the Spax springs seem quite soft compared to the PI ones my mate has got fitted.
Ideally i would have bought -60mm lowering springs but i could'nt find any of those either! so i thought the next step would be coilovers:cool:

Well from what I've seen and heard:
TEIN - The best, you get what you pay for and you pay a lot
Daiyama (1st batch) - Good quality and feedback but ride height too low
Daiyama (2nd batch) - Questionable quality and ride height too high
K-Sport - Harsh ride but good road holding, good value for money
Ebay Cheapies - No. Just, No.

Know where your coming from mate, especially considering our cars look almost identical! lol
I searched loadsa tuning shops etc before i bought my -30mm kit, just couldnt find anything -60mm and i didnt want just springs.
The next step is coilovers, but atleast that way you get what you pay for, and that means you can lower it and set it up just how you want:)
