cold start problems

hey guys and gals
recently upgraded to sr20, and the first frost this morning and it took ages to turn the car over is there a way of adjusting or even does it have adjust for auto choke or even does it have an auto choke lol
anyway help needed lol

Its all controlled by the ECU. You could have a coolant temp sensor or wiring problem.

I replaced the fuel filter an that helped, then upgraded the fuel pump, not had a problem since

Found that the ignition barrels a little worn, I have to wiggle the key and then it starts how easy is it to replace the barrel?

Will need a full lock set unless you don't mind having 2 keys on your key ring

i dont mind keys sam, cars on remote central locking anyway so only use key for ignition just need know how the hell it comes off as i can see screw threads but no heads for them lol

I think its easier to replace the steering column if fitting a second hand one.

I dont think it is. Never done it personally but it doesnt look too demanding. Are you sure its not just the ignition switch? (bit thats on the back of the ign barrel, held on with 1 screw).

ah dint think of that ill try that 1st lol no sweating my arse off required lol

Steering column is easy, 4x 12mm nuts, unclip all the plugs, 4x 10mm bolts to remove the plastic surround, 1x 12mm bolt through the universal joint. Remove.

Should it come to it anyway, its more than likely the switch.
