dumb question....

how do i go about changing the colour of my brake calipers? can i get it done after i get alloy wheels put on my car? are they usually just painted?

Yeah people usually just paint them with hammerite (or similar), and youll have to take the wheel off yeah...

Yeah all I did was take my wheel off, rub down the caliper with sandpaper and wire wool, mask off the area around it (Which took bloody ages!) and then apply a few coats of hammerite blue.
The good thing is uneven coats dont seem to matter so much as the caliper is often hidden by the wheel!

Should be, i actually painted mine with underseal when i was doing the arch and its held up, and makes no claims about being heat proof!

yeah its fine for brake calipers. i did mine red and to clean them you just wipe them with a wet cloth and they come up nice and shiney. dont use halfords heat resistant paint though, if you get oil or grease on it the paint comes right off.

the Foiliatec stuff burnt off/discoloured on mine after a particularly hard session on a track day

so that was £20 well spent then....

My brake calipers are cadmium-coated, making them gold. And resistant to just about everything.
