Went to a Retro Ford day at Crail dragstrip today despite the forecast for rain. Turned into a sunny, dry day with a huge turnout of all sorts. Capris with V8s, rear wheel drive Focus, Cossies, etc. I had a good look round & found I had the only 'Mera, lol. No surprise there then !

Although I was disappointed to post only a 17.24 sec run, my mood cheered up when I won 3 races & was smoked in 2 others. A Focus ST & Corsa VXR predictably left me for dust ! :lol: However, when I then beat a new shape Astra, Yaris Sport and Fiesta Sport, people starting coming up to the car to take a closer look :D
And this is before the mods start, lol. A great day out and the 'Mera behaved impeccably :cool:
 
sorry i never made it... it gonna be a fragile cash flow this month but we should defenitely organise an AOC drag day up there before the season closes
 
Oct 12th ?

I know it's short notice, but planning to go back again on Oct' 12th all going well. It's a 3 hr drive each way for me, but great fun. :) Must admit I was cursing the appalling state of the roads in Fife ! My wheels & suspension took a battering :eek:

17.24 is not a bad run for a 1.8 un modded. my mates 1.6 westfield done 16's and 15's which I thought was good. my mates mate has a corolla compressor and he did about the same time 15-16's

but well done for beating them other cars. ofcourse your going to get smoked by Focus ST & Corsa VXR's
 
I was s'posed to be going up yesterday to lend support to a capri loving friend but I sort of slept in!

Think some of the guys on LiviCruise are heading up shortly and the 12th was mentioned as a date, we're having a drag shoot out for a giggle. My mission is to beat a Corsa B 1.4 Sport. lol.

Decent with low 17's there. I'd be happy with beating the 20sec Mark.
