Creaking clutch pedal

Hey guys, I know this has been brought up before - but its happened to me and is driving me ABSOLUTELY CRAZY.
The clutch pedal just creaks all the time - even when the clutch is fully up, the movement of the car seems to make something rub (I assume) and makes this really annoying creaking sound.
Tried greasing the pedal - to no avail.

I saw this post - http://www.almeraownersclub.com/showthread.php?t=26405&highlight=creak
but it doesnt really have any answers.

Somebody, please help!
else im going to explode.....

my pedal clicks......... pretty annoying, my GTi used to do it occasionally doesnt bother me too much if something breaks then Il look at it.....

Somebody, heeelp!

Is it possibly time for a new clutch cable? Or maybe some good old wd-40 right at the top of the clutch pedal or in the engine bay near the gearbox!

MIne does the same thing, i think its the spring behind the pedal when its compressing, the coils are rubbing, i greased mine up ages ago with multi-purpose grease and it took it away, for a while n e way

Yup had..and have the same thing...I guess there is nothing you can do about it....only grease it more frequently (even if it's a piss to get to the pedal), also could be the clutch cable that the end is scratching the cable. Anyway when I was changing the clutch cable I removed the whole pedal...a good thing to do, I cleaned the whole thing and greased the holes where the spring is mounted....I guess that's mostly where the squeak comes from. I use Silicone paste rather than WD40 because it doesn't help so much and when it dries the squeak comes back again.

As said earlier, turn the volume up and enjoy the ride

Anyways yeah strip out the pedal replace the cable, and grease up the assembly that should do it.
