Debadging

What is the best way to remove the GTi and Almera badge at the back???

Been told lots of different ways. Not wanting to damage the paint.

Very interested in this too.... The more anonymous the car looks the better to scare people with.

Gently heat with a hair drier or hot air gun to soften the adhesive then pull off. Remove the excess glue with white spirit.

wat rowdy said is perfect
hairdryer, white spirit and a cloth
sorted

sweet, gonna be nicking either mums or the girlfriends hairdryer this weekend. Surley this heat we be havin at the moment is hot enough!!!! LOL

Being in the hot sun would probably be enough.....use a credit card or similar to get underneath.

Hair dryer, Autoglym Intensive Tar remover did mine, but dont use a dinner knife like i did it only left i little mark which u cnt really tell but i know its there.

Only thing to peel them off is something plastic that wont scratch the car!!

That tar remover is a great thing!! :)

Todays the perfect day then, its boiling!!

I got some from shows and its decent. mate is now stockists of Meguires (sp) tho so will be getting that cheaper!

Thinking about removing all badges except the Nissan ones, and painting them gold. Seen it on another black almera and my mates imported civic, it looks pretty good.....

What do you guys thinj????

I just ripped mine of today, the car is at the paintshop anyways :)
But yes, a heatgun and a little patience, and there you go.

I Removed the nissan badge and there is dirt there it feels smooth but its there how can i get it off
I removed Almera, Nissan and the GX Badge off mine

i just removed my rear badges, It took some time and i tried both the hair dryer and boiling water methods. I think the hair dryer is better. I peeled off some large chunks of glue left on the car with a credit card and hair dryer and then i used white spirts and some elbow grease to clean the remaing bits of glue off.
You can still see where the badge was though at certain angles. Is there anything i can do about that?

Oh yea, and i cracked my Almera badge too:angry:

A mate of mine who debadged his car mentioned using dental floss to gently cut through the glue behind the badge, anyone tried this?

oh yea, if your using a credit card and a hair dryer make sure the credit card is one you don't need because the card i used got seriously bent and mangled.
Dental floss could work pretty well i think but you would be left with a lot glue on the car if you didnt keep it right next to the body
