engine tuning

hi all, reading thru Stu's thread and some others it would appear that gaining more bhp isn't as straight forward as it would seem.
and with the slim chance of a rolling road day looming i like to start a thread with;

my calculations for looks well off as i dnt have as much done say stu but...

model - GTi
age - 1999
engine size - 2.0
fuel - petrol
stock power - 143bhp atf
mods -
JPerformance 4-2-1 header and 2.5' downpipe - 8bhp
resonator decat - 3bhp
torqueflow ss back box - 2bhp
PiperX panel filter - 3bhp
estimated power - 159bhp atf

now i know its not as easy as this but, why not?
edit - pls add each engine mods own bhp increase or is that not possible.

Well the mere fact that it's tuning by numbers aka using the modification abacus, i hope no-one is thinking these figures are accurate.

I hope you lot are taking power loss due to mileage into account.

last yr i went on a RR at pod, made standard power at 4k rpm with 90 lb/ft.flat spot at 4500 so operator backed off. since then ive fitted better filter and dropped the timing back. feels better and a RR will hopefully tell me so :)

Ah, ive typed this wrong, ive written up the changes the autech has over the standard gti. Its all estimates anyway, theres no set increase for any modification.
All mines had over standard is the underdrive pulley and air filter. Whos knows, maybe I get 14bhp extra, I just drive it
