Escort Mk2 and K11 Micra

Just though I'd post a few pics of the new rally cars.

Had these a little while and thought I'd finally get some pics up.

First, the Escort Mk2.Bought this just before Christmas. It's a standard 4-door 1300 X-flow.Genuine mileage of 47,000 miles and only 1 owner from new:eek: which is unbelievable.Car has MOT and Tax and even stuck it on the road over Christmas and had a little play.Soon to be stripped and build into a rally car at the end of Feb or beginning of March.Having thoughts of putting a big power 1400 16v Vauxhall engine in it.Only one pic at the moment though.

The there's the Micra.Bought on the Tuesday before the rally I did.Got it MOT'd on the Friday and was ready to go.Standard 1300 Micra with all the necessary bits.Cage, seats, harnesses, guards, lines inside, cut offs, interior light, spots, foot rest and so on.Did well for it's first rally as I managed an 8th O/a and got the award for best Under 1400.

Are you gunna convert the Escort into a 2 door?

I'd dump the Vauxhall engine idea and slip a SR16VE in there instead!

Theres hundreds of museum Escorts, we dont need anymore. RWD 16VE would be so sweet, also so expensive.

It's not a minter by a long way.To be a minter it does need a bit of work.New front panel and a couple of bits tidying but the bits that need to be strong and clean are very, very tidy.

I won't say how much it cose exactly but it was very cheap for it's condition.

A 16ve would be mega sweet. But then does involve quite a bit of work and money getting bellhousings, mounts, manifold and exhausts etc made to suit an Escort. If I had the money...I would. But unfortunatly I don't.Got to get the shell all prepped first anyways so that's going to cost a fair bit

What sort of power would that be running standard injection?Would be a bit big for an Escort? Most Skylines a RWD setup standard aren't they?
