Just thought id say hi,

Im new to the whole jap nissan sceen, normally im a ford man but fancied a change so will beasking plenty of questions etc about tuning, but the main one i want to ask is can i convert the gti to run pulsar gtir engine and transmission???

any feast your eyes on me new motor :D:D:D

Was this parked in Kelvedon high street around 3pm today (saw a black GTi with those wheels & a red intake funnel in the grille as I went past in the van)?

Also, your car is very well known on here, as the guy who originally built it is still an active member. :)
 
hi mate and welcome.

GTiR motor will go in your car but not the transmission unless you want to cut the floor away for the prop shaft, then theres mounting the rear subframe. all you need to do is use a FWD clutch and flywheel, but the flywheel to crank bolts are bigger so the holes in the flywheel will need honing out, then theres the ECU, intercooler etc
 
No wasnt me mate only go the car at 1pm then it went straight home.

i have contacted the chap who owned it before me to get some details on the car, it sounds like i have got me a real bargin only paid £1200 for it.

the only thing that lets it down is there is zero history and and a 121k on the clock, but never mind, gave it a good run up the 127 today to work and she's a real beauty nice to drive and well comfy. so im chuffed to bits.
 
Hi Rob it's great to see my old car is back in the club! I took this car to JAE in 2002 completely standard and now it's back wahey! I sold with all the history/reciepts in a folder so looks like they've gone missing at some point. Ah well if you need to know anything about let me know.
Should still be fine even with 121k on. I serviced it regularly although it looks like it needs a new HKS airfilter element. It's the 200 one when you go to order one. I got repacement's from Wincanton Motorsport think it had a red one on when I sold it.
Turboing it would be cool, i'd love to see that. You could either turbo the existing engine or fit a Gti-R lump into it. There's quite a few people on here who have done one or the other so do a search and you should find some info.

Thanks for the links Almera Guy had a read and quite supprised the exctent of mods done and i have posted on the essex meet thread and well up for it.

also what size are the speakers in the front door as looking to kit this thing out with some seriuos tunes

new filter element ordered today 200mm as recommeded.

a quick question though i want to put 2 12" subs in a box in the boot but i had the boot carpet up and noticed the floor is not flat by the back seats how do people over come this problem do they build a false floor to make the floor as smooth as possible.

Answers on a post card please :D :D
