Exhaust on the ground!

Help!

The front section of my exhaust, pretty much in line with my front tyres, is hitting the ground every now and then (infact, damn often!). It's a kinda meshy section (?)

I can't get under my car or put it on ramps, as it was lowered by the previous owner.

Is this a section that has clips holding it in place or something obvious that would be the problem - or does this part just generally sit lower and i'm just noticing the scrapes now as I've been taking different roads???

Thanks guys!

its pretty common for the flexi's (Mesh section) to go, there should be a hanger just infront of the CAT which can snap and lead to the exhaust dropping a tad, without getting under the car for a proper look though it will be hard to tell

the one behind the cat had snapped on my old gti best thing i can advise is if your any good with a grinder and welder or got a friend who is make a new bracket and jsut fix it back up under the car, if it is indeed that clip that has broke

but as sam said u will really need to get it up off the ground to see under it

if it is the case the CAT hangers are about £30 from Nissan iirc, I bought one and hammerited it so it shouldnt rust for a long time

the standard manifold doesnt have a flexi (mesh) section, its usually a spring loaded ball and cup type connection to allow movement.
