Well I guess it was inevitable, I've known for a long time that I need a bigger car, but I've tried selling my GTi in the past and always found a reason to keep it.

But today the new owners finally drove it away. Longest I've ever had a car for (1 year, 3 months.. doesnt say much! :P)

I could never had got a slower car, which is why its taking so long to get a new car.
Big car + powerful = big engine + expensive to run.
I now own a Mitsubishi Legnum VR4. 2.5ltr twin turbo. Beast of a car.
But its a completly different drive to the Almera. It doesnt feel as connected. And dispite being able to corner at silly speeds (4x4 and AYC help here) and 0-60 in under 6 seconds its not as fun to drive :(

I guess you can't have it all.
I'm now trying to get my mum to sell her car and buy an Almera GTi, so I can still have the odd drive :D

Shame when people sell up, but it has to be done sometimes.

Can't believe the Legnum isn't as fun to drive, says a lot about the Almera.

The legnum is an awesome car, but there are some things that big cars don't do as well.
You can't throw it into a corner like you can the Almera (at least not without the AYC and ASC kicking in). The Almera just feels more raw and you feel as if your actually driving it rather than just playing a game.

If I had more money I would of kept it, and tried to do what rowdy has done.

I've attached a few pictures of my legnum :)
Quite a full engine bay, I think you will agree!

sold some headlights for one of them last year so had a read on the vr4 forum, sound like great cars but the economy was terrible, seem to remember it being 15-20 mpg normal driving. are nice looking cars though, almera is just so chuckable that its bound to be more "fun" than a bigger car, as standard i think our eGT would out handle the n15 but to drive the almera is more fun, can just throw it around and it loves it, now its lowered i think it would do alright against the p10 on a twisty lane and thats with 65 bhp less, just goes were you point it

Sorry for being thick, but is that just a Galant estate with a different name?

Pretty much. Imported Galant VR4 estates = legnum.
Much like Nissan Sunny/Pulsar and the rest that get a name change from Japan to UK.

Economy isnt too bad I guess. I'm getting 25-28 when driving fairly normally. But if you use higher revs and get the turbos pumping then 15-20 is more like it. But the torque comes from so low down, and is so smooth that you dont need high revs like the Almera does.
One thing I love about it is the aggresive styling. Nicest looking estate there is IMO, and one of the few cars where the estate looks better than the saloon :D

Wow, nice looking Legnum. They look badass IMO, good choice ;)

Saw a couple on display at Castle Combe with one of the Mitsi claubs last rally action day I went to, shame they weren't out on track owning all the others :D

They don't half squeeze that twin turbo in there eh  best get the shoe-horn out,

Veero

Looks nice mate and a nice engine to go with it. Ive been on holiday for a week and after not driving my GTi for 7 days i got back in it today and was like a little kid again. I chucked it about a bit and loved it!

I am certainly not disapointed to have 4wd in the snow :D
The Almera was really scary in the white stuff last year.

bad ass car but monsters on juice..mate had one..some air intake cant imagine any aftermarket induction doing a better job
