Few Things

Hi all just bought my wife a n16 almera 2006 1.5 sx done 67k car seems fine so far apart from when pulling away in first gear bite point is near the top and sometimes get a very slight juddering but not all the time and if give few more revs think it seems ok. im not sure if this is just my wife getting used to it as she had a 2.2di 2000 almera before.

the other is what sort of fuel comsumption should we get showing 33-35mpg on the console so far she does a 25 mile round trip so about 12 miles in the morning some of it in the town and some on main roads.

any thoughts help appriciated. thanks Daz

You'll be lucky to actually get 35mpg from the 1.5.

If the clutch bite is at the top of the pedal the clutch is worn. They have hydraulic clutches so are self adjusting, it doesnt means worn out completely, but put it in 4th at 30 and plant the throttle to see if the clutch slips.

ok seems fine pulling in 4th, its does not do it all the time the bite point is not right at the top is more as your realsing it near the top and not giving it a few more revs a slight judder can be felt. but if you give it bit more rev than you would have her diesal it seems fine. only when pulling away in first. did not notice it when test driving and farther inlwaw is a mechanic and he did'nt mention anything but thought id asked on here. are they easy to replace ? or if its slightly worn ok to keep going?

typical about mpg all the data said 42mpg on combined

Aslong as its not slipping and theres no noises rattles then it should be fine to carry on. Its not too difficult to change 4hours or so, less if you have access to a lift.

Yeah they must have randomly picked a figure for the mpg. The 1.5 is underpowered for the weight of the car, id have stayed with diesel ha.
