I was just wondering why are you removeing the Air Con ?

frees up an extra few bhp plus the condensor, pipework radiator pump etc weighs about 40kg

Fair Enough But I would stick with Air con you might as well pay for a superchip instead of removing the air con. I mean if ur on a motorway and it was as sunny day i would think u would like to have air con. I would stick with it and do other mods.
