First weekend away

Well the "new" almera passed the first test this weekend!
Quick trip up to Wales, 140 miles each way, another 100 while we there there, perfic!

Minor problem with throttle sticking occasionally, making it difficult to press down from fully off. Sticky cable or pedal linkage me suspects. But otherwise a good trip. It didnt quite get the 40 to 45 mpg the previous owner said, but there again, we were at 80mph most of the way which must suck a bit more fuel.

Next major trip, up to Scotland in May, about 400 miles each way.
FIngers crossed.

Is yours a 14 or a 16? I find I get about 40mpg at 80mph sometimes, other times I get about 32mpg. Think the self learning ECU is a bit sketchy, or I'm talking rubbish. Tip for small engined cars, you don't have enough power to overtake, so go faster than everyone else the whole time :D

Ha! Canny tip!
Mines the 14, think it did about 35mpg average over weekend, so not too bad. Runs smooth enough, good starter, not the quickest off the mark I've had, dunno what she's revving at doing 80 in 5th as theres no rev counter.

is it broke or do you literally have no rev counter? my old 1.4 Si did loooooooads of trouble free fast paced miles and never skipped a beat :)

Its a basic equation - noooooo rev counter, no frills whatsoever, God do I miss little things like central locking, leccy windows, and the pillock that said you could have a hatch with no split folding rear seats should be shot! Oh but at least I got leccy mirrors . LOL.
But the price seemed right for an extremely clean car inside and out at 84k with a yrs MOT - £562.
