fitting clear side repeaters

Hi all,

i'm thinking of getting a set of clear side repeaters off ebay (about 15 quid).

Are they a straight swap?

How do you remove the original orange ones? do they just pull out or twist off? Just after a bit of advise before i try (as i'm a bit heavy handed - brute force usually works, but also ends up costing more money :P )

Also none say they a E-approved does this matter as long as i get bulb that flashes orange?

Cheers.

just pull them to the side and they usually pop out ;) be gentle though and try pulling them both ways, one won't give and the other should slide rather easily. ;)

The ones i bought were poorly made. I had to carve some plastic out of the clear indicator so that my old bulbs would fit into it. i.e the new indicator hole was too small. Not much of a problem though.

when it get it off the body do these it have a connector on it to simply disconnect from it and reconnect to the new one or do you usually have to cut the wires etc..

push your indicator to either the rear of the car of the front of the car. cant remember which way, and pull outwards. shouldnt have to be too heavy handed and should only take 10 seconds. yep they are connected with a plug connector.

dont let the connector/wire fall inside, else you have you remove the arch liner............

good point i will watch out for this.

thanks all for your help.

I will hopefully get some pics of the car on here once it isn't covered in snow.

lever the engine side out first with a knife or screwdriver then disconnect wireing. be sure to hold on to wires otherwise its a fucker to get em out of the hole again. very easy to do, take mins. dont forget to replace the bulbs with orange glows:0 they come with the new ones but mine were both broke

Mine did that but luckily I had one of those long things with the litte grabber on the end, opeend my door and poked it throught the gap and i grabbed it and poked it baxk through the hole!

I did have to carve some plastic out to get the bulb to fit aswell as some on the clip to hold it in place.

WHAT metal on metal = damage paint work!

not with a knife, i just peeled back the rubber surrounding a bit, stuck the knife in the gap. didnt even touch the paint :)
although.-- not to do without as responsible adult, as a 7" bowie knife can be dangerous in the wrong hands.
