When i fitted a set of Sparco mudflaps to a 106 for the front we made a template of the shape of the car, copied the shape to the flap then use stainless clips to fix flap to bodywork in the desired, used a couple of clips into sill too (put a blob of sealant to keep water out where clips are attached to panels)
On the back just rivet the full flap to the edge of the bumper in a position that you are happy with, you can trim the amount that goes up the back of the arch if you want, we left it whole, 2 rivets to hold it fast and ran a touch of sealant accross the top.
They functioned!
You could just temp fix em to get a rough idea of how they will look, if you conclude you don't like the look of em i will give you a tenner for the set
go for it fella i fit a new set of LARGE mud flaps every 4-6 weeks, its a piece of piss just 6 10mm bolts per pair ,go for it ,it really helps to keep down the excess spray ect ............................
