Fitting New Lights

Hi everyone, I've just got a proper bargain, a set of phase 2 clear headlights and rear lights for £40 posted :D

I assume fitting the front lights will simply be a straight swap?

As for the back lights, I know that I will need some sealant strip for the replacement lights, although everywhere I look it's around £15-£20 for the butyl sealing strip, I was wondering if anybody on here wants to sell me half a roll if they've got one lying about? (Really strapped for cash atm, student...lol)

I'm looking forward to the refreshed look of my car, also just tinted the rear windows so it's good all round :)

Fronts are a direct fit, as are the rears. If the new rears have some sticky sealant on them then they will be fine. They should do as most of it stays on the lights when they come off. Top tip, when removing your rear lights, get them loose by first pushing a hammer handle onto the bolts at the back, then when they're (3 i think) loose, pull the lights as fast as you can so the sealant doesn't go everywhere!

£40 inc postage BARGAIN! i love a good bargain as joe will agree :), :)
they will fit, can be a bit fiddly to change but simple, good luck.
:)

Thanks for the tip Simcard :D

I think I'll just not worry about buying any sealant then, makes things better for me.

All I need now is a nice set of front indicators and a set of fog lights and I'm sorted (Both my indicators and foglights have a couple of cracks in)

Buy some phase 2 replica indicators off fleabay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nissan-Almera-98-00-Indicator-Lamp-Lens-Unit-NEW-F9_W0QQitemZ280291067546QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item280291067546&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1301|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318

Then with use of an oven or hair dryer, split them apart and spray the silver bit in the corner black as to replicate phase 2 gti's.

The same can be done with your cyrstal headlights with a little more patience. They will look alot better with this "mod".

phase 2 are crystal as the lenses are clear glass and use that crystal shaped dome to direct the light i think. Phase1 just have the cut lense glass

Yeah thats right.

I'm liking the idea of 'blacking' my headlights and indicators although I'm not the best at DIY and panting things scares me...

Any tips?

P.S. I would love to be a member and get access to all of this info and I think that it's about time but I can't afford it atm!
