Front bumper & splitter

Ive took some damage to my phase 1 front splitter :'(

I certainly dont wanna pay nissan the damn ransom they demand for the crappy bit of plastic it is (if they even make them anymore). Has anyone got any ideas what I could do to replace the splitter?

If I can get something sorted I might have a go at fixing mine but im not that hopeful :(

Ideally I would like to keep the bumper, im a big fan of the ph1 bumper.
 
how bad is it? wouldnt a body shop be able to fix it instead of you having to replace it? if you have any bits that are broken then i would be suprised if a decent bodyshop couldnt fix it
 
Its split (pun not intended), from the front it looks like a small split but its pretty big underneath, it also seems warped as it doesnt conform to the bumper properley anymore. For that matter where the screws connect into the bumper at the sides they seem to be a bit bentso its not properley pulling it into the right position.

Are these things usually glued on as well? If so what glue do they use and is this the same as the glue on the spoiler?
 
Dave Evans from the NPOC had a big shunt where he was shunted from behind into the van infront when in his Primera last year and he has managed to get his front bumper repaired and that was not in that good of a condition after the accident so you could try going to a body shop and see what they suggest they could do with it.
 
i would go with a bodyshop if its damaged but still mostly together, its amazing what they can do with things these days and it will probably be easier and possibly cheaper than trying to find another one, would also make a nice change to see a bodykit phase 1 with the splitter still there, so many seem to have lost the splitter over the years and only have the skirts and rear bumper which looks daft as the bumper is higher than the rest of the car
 
Yeah I agree with Almera UK - I'm sure it can be fibreglassed fine - Just take it around some places and get some quotes.
 
no need i just got my bud to make me a one in fiberglass as i have snapped a few and as very expensive and hard to get i got him to make a mould of it so i can always get them as mine has nearly snapped again,so if want one i can get him to do it and he only got the phase1 splitter as thats all mine isd he did have ebay account but has moved and not got computer back online at mo. just pm me if want it :O

Good news that your mate has made a mould, but what the hell are you doing to keep snapping your splitters?! :rolleyes:
 
he he had you dig now boys rowdy shut up well i took my 17inch wheels off when engine blew up so had gti ones on and for people like rowdy i shall tell you why it keeps snapping is i live on a main road to airport and is very busy and to get off my drive i have to sit for ages until lights go to red at junction and then reverse off my drive straight across two lanes of the four and then full lock to get turned before any traffic comes out of junction or lights change and there is a big huge cur on path and with gti wheels it keep catching and nothing i can do as drive angel and wall cant help it . so reaLLY GLAD GOT MY 17IN WHEELS BACK ON AND IT WAS BROKE WHEN I BOUGHT IT AND GOT NEW ONE THEN GOT MATE TO COPY IT AS THOUGHT WAS GOOD IDEA SO CAN GET ANY BODYKIT BIT AS GOT WHOLE KIT MOULDED SO :P AS FOR ENGINE WELL THINK WHAT YA LIKE MY FRIENDS WHO KNOW ME WOULD AGREE THAT ENGINE FAULT WAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY DRIVING ABILITIES SO SHUT UP OR STOP BEING A MALE SHOVERNISTICK PIG AS MY DRIVING SKILLS ARE BETTER THAN MOST OF THIS MALE DOMINATED CAR CLUB. LOL didn't mean to upset you Almeragirl! Just curious as to how you kept breaking those splitters! But yeah, kerbs are nasty things!
 
:( i not upset with you its rowdy he aoc moderator and its not the first dig at me i dont mind comments like that from people who know me as there just kidding but i am annoyed about this as i have never met rowdy and being of the holy aoc mod should not comment in a sexist way i am generally upset at this post. :roll: pics if you zoomin on pic you can see sticky taped together when bought it and got new one fitted and the damage is in same spot as old one and now got another one to get fitted tomorrow.pic720,741, 740 my drive and pic gti when bought it and 0996 now so tomorrow will be third one that gets fitted.cry cry cry money money money sob sob sob
