Hey guys just need a little help here – so any help would be welcome.

I have had my Phase 1 GTI now for about 10 months now; it didn’t come with the optional body-kit but I have managed to get the back and side skirts and have fitted them. I recently went down to my Nissan dealer and they had a Phase 2 lying around from a kid that worked there before. The problem came when I went to fit it – The fucker is to long on the side & nearly sticks into my tires! Has anybody ever fitted a Phase 2 onto a Phase 1 or can it not be done?

Also my second point is that I have just put some 17’s on to replace the crappy 15’s but still looks a bit out of place with the gaping holes in the arches. I have had a look on the net for lowering spring – but the most I can find is 40mm – I want 60mm so does any body know where I can find some as I don’t wanna get em made up.

Cheers

the first part didnt really make sense? the skirts are to big? all phase 2 will go on phase 1 and vice verser, they are the same chassis.

oh yeah apart from the front splitter :O

the skirts should fit the splitter will not sorry dude you need a phase 2 bumper to fit the phase 2 splitter on.
as for the lowering as far as i know you will need to buy coilovers to get the drop you want.
sign up to the AOC and you can get a set of, dampener and height adjustable coilovers for £570 deliverd to your door ;)

As just mentioned above, the splitters are not interchangeable. If you want to put the phase 2 front splitter on then you will either have to modify it yourself or get a body shop or something to cut it and mold it on or whatever may be needed, or you could just buy a phase 2 front bumper.

Cheers for the help - about the splitter , so there are no external companies which just do the springs, I.E. spax etc?

I could have sworn ive replied to this topic before

Am i losing it, or is someone deleting posts

Ah..... I see!

40 mm is as low as the phase 2's go, and 35mm is as low as the phase 1's go in springs.

The only alternative is to buy coilovers in the AOC group buy. These go as low as 150mm.

You will have to join the club to join in with group buys.

i have a carbon fiber front splitter to go on the bottom of my p2 gti does anyone know how to fit it do i just bolt it on from underneath or do i need to use special rods

Can do was going to post it on ebay - its the genuine part from Nissan – cost me £200 so not the cheap carbon fibre stuff. It has been sprayed black in a body shop. Make me an offer and ill see…
