Fuel additives.....any good for Almera GTI?

There are soooo many fuel additives on the market these days, all claiming to restore lost power, better mpg etc. Has anyone used a fuel additive in an Almera GTI, are they ok to use?

I have always bought 'STP Complete Fuel Cleaner' for all my prev' hot hatches......205 GTI's, Golf GTI's, R5 GT Turbo, Astra GTE's etc and all have been ok....... Just want to make sure it will be ok to use on my car?

Also I have always run my cars on Shell Optimax 99 ron....... Are Almera GTI's ok to run on this?

Slightly off topic, but ive been using an additive in my n15 diesel for the past 93,000 miles with no ill effects. Originally it was Millers Diesel Power Plus, replaced by Diesel Power Sport 4 and, now, the newest on the market, Millers Ecomax (available in both petrol and diesel variants). All these additives provided tangible improvements in starting performance, torque and fuel economy. Edk, if you havent tried any yet, get some power sport 4 and run a bottle through the engine. I guarantee you will see a difference. As I can swear by the Millers brand, why no try the Ecomax in the GTi and see how it goes?

any one ACTUALLY got any dyno proof of these working? not just the good old placebo affect? just the the ecotek valves that sit in the line to the brake servo. lol

i remember my first car, stuck an airfilter where the airbox should have been, and it made more noise, and i thought i was quicker, although when i raced my mate, it was no quicker

really would like to see dyno proof of these various things and not from the manufacture

just run it on vpower and itl be fine dont bother with any additives, Im yet so see any proof from conclusive tests that they actually do anything....

i read the links that edk put up and it looks like the tesco special jungle juice is the best stuff to use, i may give that a go instead of the v power i think, lol.

DE injectors dont seem to have a problem of getting dirty....its the pintle design or something.

I run mine on VPower most of the time but I might give that a go sometime on your recommendation, cheers :).
