Hi, My almera won't start after it was jumpstarted with the cables wrong by a retard mechanic. Basically what has happened as far as I can diagnose is the ECU might have melted. I've already bought an ECU which should be coming tomorrow. Problem is; is the ECU the only problem. Can anyone help me out on this?

well the ECU only will be useless you might need the key with it.

also I don't think the ECU might have melted if it has melted then it won't start at all. and even if it does not start try and check for a fuse it might just be a blown fuse.

lol double dosage of current and 24v = fail!

check the main 75A fuse in the fuse box near teh battery, this has more than likel been blown
 
Yeah, didn't think about fuses actually... Bit silly really. But yeah cheers. The car starts, but once i open the throttle it cuts out, which is why my initial thought was fuel cut off.
