Fuel tank pressure?

shaggy_master

brapp brapp!
Right, this is something which I have noticed, but has never worried me in the slightest..

When I unscrew my fuel filler cap, pressure can be heard being released.. I'm not sure weather its being sucked in or pushed out though.
But it does it every time, even if I leave it for an hour without starting the car it'll do it again.

As I said I thought nothing of it but my grandad filled my car up for me recently and now he's very concerned by it so asked me to find out if it was normal haha.

I was thinking maybe either its normal, or if not maybe some sort of breather is blocked?

Any help much appreciated, Joe

Thanks Alan, I thought it was air being sucked in too, but my grandad was worried about the fuel tank bursting haha. Bless him.
Cheers again, Joe

mine too fella, i don't like it so i only screw the cap on 2 full turns - thus no vac in the tank.
must suck from the rail/fuel filter too eek

K11 and N16 both do it

must be to do with the pressure inside the tank changing from atmospheric pressure!

Or something or nothing! lol
