Fuse Box Layout?

I need the fuse box layout for the GTI, I have fitted a UK spec headunit in the Autech, but in doing so I shorted a wire and blew the fuse for the dash lights (heater control lights and dial lights - speedo etc) - The speedo and everything works, just can't see the speed at night.

Does anyone know what AMP fuse it is or where in the fuse box it is located?

Thanks, Ben

fuse boxes should be in the same places as the GTi, facing your right knee in the drivers seat and underneath the bonnet, right of the rocker cover near the battery. i think on the jap models.. its the very last one on the bottom left of the fusebox in the drivers seat.. kinda like..

X being where the fuse is located in the fuse box.. should be AMP 15 or 20..

Dash lights are on the left control stick. I blew the same fuse which affected side lights and dipped beam. Was one of the 10amp fuses in the fuse carrier adjacent to the battery.

I did that as well in the autech mate, I can tell you its one of the ones in the bonnet, Not the inside ones, there are only like 5 so take them out one by one and check to see if theyre blown.

Word of warning your sidelights wont work either and nor will your rear lights.. I found that out the hard way and had to drive with rear fog on until I found a carpark to fix it in :)

it'll be the 10A tail light fuse in the fusebox nexst to the battery. sidelights, tail lights, dash lights and number plate lights are all on the same circuit. I also had to drive with the rear fog on for a few weeks until I found a short that kept blowing the 10A fuse.

I did it putting the rear fog on, obviously got my wires crossed (hardy har) on one of the attempts :P

wondered why everyone was flashing me, thought they just really liked the spoiler?!?! lol.
