Was looking at a nismo gear knob on ebay but it wasnt specified if or not it would fit on my VZR. The guy has it detailed to fit a Silvia S14, 180sx amongst others....all of which are 5 speed too. I e-mailed him to ask if it would fit a /vzr and he said he didnt know and that if i bought it and didnt fit, it was nothing to do with him. Anybody know if it will fit the VZR?

its either going to be a standard fit screw on which are normaly universal threads, so getting the gear pattern on the top to be the same it should be fine, or it might come as a slip over type and gets held on by a grub screw which also will fit fine.
might be worth asking the seller what type it is, got a link to the item?
 
The genuine NISMO ones fit spot on, they are the screw on type. Good luck getting your old one off though, I had to hack it off.

Make sure it is genuine, you'll be looking over £30 for a real one.
 
Not hard to get the gear knob off, take a large mole grip to the top of the gear knob (where the circumference is not quite circular) and turn hard, should just unscrew, might leave some marks on the knob but if you're replacing it who cares...
 
i've got that exact one in black. it the mutts nuts of gearknobs to be honest!

The weight of it is spot on and the size and shape is perfect.

Right..i'll stop getting excited about knobs now.;)
