Gear Stick Gaiter

Hello - I bought a Nissan Almera Tino, this weekend, I have had to buy a near gearstick gaiter as the one on it was torn, does anyone know how the heck you glue it to the trim, seems a very poor fix to me, I have the new gaiter but fixing it is causing problems, I have tried using a hot glue gun but that is not working to well, is there any sort of fixing that I can buy do you know

Yes it looked like it had been hot welded in to the plastic trim.

However I think I have now done it, I used a clear silicone, it is still drying but it looks nice and firm, and so much better than the torn original one.
