GTi Badges

I need to get a new GTi Bade for the boot!! Plus at the same time i want the GTI bade for each side that goes on the B Pillar like on the Phase 2 GTi's!!!

I went to nissan and i gave them my Reg plate and it brought up the GTi bad but it read ------- 2.0 GTi ------ my old one how ever just read GTi!!

Any part numbers would be of help!

I got the part numbers off fast. There on the forums somewhere (or they were in the old setup) I'll have a look for them

think as standard its a double sided foamy tape, used some when i put the spoiler on mine and its still holding well now. think no more nails do one, used the red one on mine i think and its good, from memory theres another colour for less weight aswell but i just got the one for heavier weights anyway.

I think it wouldn't make any difference getting new ones. Your paying that extra mooney just for a bit of double sided tape if you think about it. Their all the same shape ie. curvature etc..If it didn't stick when you tried, just use bathroom sealant. Worked a treat for me and then use a cotton bud dipped in water to get rid of any excess. I think superglue would damage the paintwork.

Well seems like a good time to throw another suggestion into the mix:

I call it 'Stealth Badging'. Its done by scanning in an origional badge, tidying up the image, adding a 2mm border, cut the 2mm border in pearl red, cut the black center in matt black, layer together, inject a 2-part resin over the top to give it a weatherproof glossy coating, apply to bodywork.

Its in the factory position on the car and looks trick as fook in my opinion. Ask any local sign place if they can produce 'Resin badges' and you could have one similar. Or try NeilSR, hes in my line of work too.

Stealth Badging looks cool!

I used Silicone to stick my badges on, was going to go with superglue but i think if for any reason the badge ever needed to come off (or some kids with screwdrivers wanted it off) the superglue would pull the paint off, silicones flexible enough to move and seperate from the paint, and still permanent enough to hold the badge on!

But like others have said Garnz get the rear GTi badge second hand if you can get a mint one - I agree you'd need to go to Nissan for the side badges though, most have gone pink!

Go back to your Nissan dealer and tell them to look on x-files on DCS all the gti and rare stuff is listed on there.

Isnt that the same as a standard one, red with a black border?

It is but my sri one went a light orange colour, so do the Gti ones i think. Thats why i 'invented' stealth badging. I origionally had the 'Almera' badge done totally in gloss black and you couldnt see it until you got within a foot of the car, im my opinion it would look awesome if you had the badge resined over clear vynil so your paint colour would show through, done it on a supra last month and it looked gorgeous.

Just a thought, how easy are these to remove, if I had them fitted, then decided to replace the bootlid & swap them over?

Hairdryer them off & silicone them back on again?

The same ones as my sri will just peel off with a bit of heat from a hairdryer/heatgun. OE ones are a bitch to get the glue off!
