gti brake calipres and dics

Hi .iv been recommended to fit gti brake calipres, discs & pads on my si if im to put 17 inch alloys on.

Stupid questions but are the gti pads, calipres and discs bigger hence will they provider better stopping power than the standard si brakes on 17 inch wheels?

Also would upgrading the brake line attached to the calipre to gti braided lines be advisable?

Thankyou

Gti brake are a nice upgrade but not needed just because you have bigger wheels.

Who told you that??

O dam. I posted something a while ago and was recommended gti brakes....so would you say its better to leave brakes as they are? I mean is there anything you can recommend that is not very expensive in relation to making my brakes better as per adding 17 inch wheels on?

I gta say im amused by amount members who are so bored and sad t reply correcting post mistakes and posting sarcastics comments on what they think..almost like they are amusing themselves. Get a life. (aimed at chunky)

I get amused when people have been on here for over 6 months and dont bother spending a few quid on becoming a full member.
I also get amused when poeple keep posting in the wrong sections, and i have to move the lame questions elsewhere.

Bigger is always better haha and yes braided lines make a big difference to the rubber nylon type weave they rolled off the line with.

One more question...i know its stupid but i really dont know the answer.

My 1.4 si has rear brake drums....so if i change my brake lines to braided at the front then do i have to do the rear?
Guess what i want to know is does the rear brakes use brake fluid as the front. My si is non abs.thanks

They come as a set so it would be rude not to haha I've got them on my 1.4 shell drums and they're better than the rubber lines by a mile
And you only really need to put gti brakes on if you going to put a bigger engine in like an sr20de

Convert to GTi brake set up,upgrade the brake hose to braided hoses, renew the brake fluid (dot 4 will do just fine) Bleed brake system.Job done.

Having bigger wheels does not mean you need to upgrade the brakes.
