GTi P2 in Red: is it clear-coated or single stage paint?

Okay. It's just that I noticed this in David’s thread...
There’s a distinct pink hue to that microfiber towel. Either it’s not got clearcoat, or David’s polished through the clearcoat (a distinct possibility
), or he’s picked that up from an area that isn’t clearcoated, like when buffing inside door shuts or the underside of the bonnet, maybe.
i tend to pick up red on the tailgate number plate trim and my old door mirrors.
