gti-r ecu?

hi again everyone.....in need of some advice on a gti-r ecu, hope someone can help.
Im gradually modding my gti n recently i have been looking at the ecu side of things. ive heard you can hook up a pulsar gti-r ecu to a 'mera gti n benifit alot from it...... Is this true? and would i need to change anything apart from the ECU? looking forward to your replys :)

A GTi-R ECU will not work on a N/A Almera. It's all setup for a turbo engine.

The 1 person that has used a GTiR ecu on an Almera, has a GTiR lump.

Unless your pushing 200bhp, I wouldn't worry about upgrading the ECU.

I THINK you`d have to mess about with the wiring loom to get it to work properly (i.e: get a GTi-R loom & `Frankenstein` the 2 together  ), but, I could be talking bolox, as that may just apply if you transplant the engine. :O

Someone will give you the definitive answer, no doubt. :)

EDIT: There you go, the definitive answer given while I was just rambling!

The only benefit I could see is that you can map the GTiR ECU's more freely but unless your car is seriously modified it would be more of a hindrance then helpful.

You would loose your nats and the wires going into your ECU would need swapping around. It's pretty likely then that things like the MAF sensor would not work and so you would have to change to a GTiR Maf, which then uses a different plug, so a lot of cutting of looms and messing about, so i'm sure it's not worth it.

Yes, i`ve done some research and the GTi-R ecu can be fitted with some re-wiring and is more easily mapped.

Its not a direct fit and will give instant gains.

A N/A N15 and a P11 apparently run a GTIR ecu in the UK.
