Gti - Vzr?

Didn't want to hijack the other thread ( http://www.almeraownersclub.net/showthread.php?t=23862 )

I'm of to Oz in a couple of years and wanted to know how much the Gti's go for over there, just trying to weigh up which would be best, to export mine there or to buy one when i get there. Simcard told me in the other thread that they don't do the Gti over there but the Vzr.
Are they one and the same car? If not does anyone know what the differences are?
 
I dont even think they did a VZ-R in Aus only people that import them.

In Aus they do a GTi equivalent however they only made them in the 5 door chassis called N15 Pulsar SSS Same SR20DE engine as gti and that but its just 5 door.
 
I'm not too sure if the VZ-R is common in Australia due to their import laws.

There are plenty in NZ though.
 
Yeah, we get the SSS over here Australian delivered which is basically a 5 door version of your GTi like Garnz said previously, and VZ-R's are hugely abundant, but they are around...

I wonder if the crash testing and all that has been done now that the president has been set over there? A lot to find out by the looks of things. Still it would be quite cool to have one of the only if not the only UK Gti over there :D
 
No bother, it would be brilliant alright. You'd have something very special indeed but no point in bringing it if you can't use it on the road!! I don't know how often he logs on here but hopefully he'll be in a position to help you out...
