Not sure if this is in the correct section, but please move it if not. I also hope it isn’t going to cause offence. I’m just looking for feed-back.

You will see I’m new to the forum, but I’m trying to see what comments people have for my bespoke car themed furniture (web link below). As a complete car-nut I’m looking into the possibility of starting new business doing something I will enjoy, and that is producing hand-made bespoke pieces of car-furniture for other car enthusiasts. The website has pictures of the few examples I’ve already done (no nissan yet!), but I want to expand my portfolio.

I personally like the idea, maybe an SR20 Engine block coffee table or a side table with a wheel as the base, sofa from the rear bench seats.

The possibilitys are endless really!
 
Thanks for the welcome and the positive comments guys, I appreciate it. Price wise it really does depend on what is involved, the exact design and the price of the 'raw materials', i.e. the wheels etc. But by example, for the BMW one I would have to be looking at charging around £295. I know that might sound a lot and limit the market, but for something that is unique and handmade I think it is reasonable.

Thats fair enough cost wise, as like you say, its bespoke!

Would you be up for the customer providing parts? Ie engines/wheels/ect?
 
when I finally get my own place I will so be getting an engine block coffee table :)

A V8 would look good, but an SR20 with the pistons in various states of movement would be awesome.

Oh, and where in West Yorks are you?

might try it myself, have some gti headlights hanging from the ceiling instead of energy saving bulbs

and that 8 cylinder coffee table WOW!!!
 
i think every guy has thought about a V8 or sumthing as a coffee table since clarkson on top gear lol!

i tried blagging the missus into letting me! she quiet quickly declined the idea!
