Headlight Problem

I seem to have a problem with the headlights on my Almera GTi.

The parking setting is fine but when I put the headlights on full only the drivers side comes on bright - the passengers side stays in parking mode and the high beam indicator comes on on the dashboard. Setting the headlights on high beam makes the driver side headlight go on full beam but the passenger side stays on parking. Anybody know what the problem is?

I'm not too familiar with car electrics so dunno if it is some kind of warning to replace a bulb. I'd appreciate any help or info that can be provided.

Have you tried replacing the bulb? If it's not that, the connections at the back may have melted - mine got hot and melted the plastic casing but I just clamped it back together.

Thanks guys.

Swapped the bulbs over. I noticed the passenger side one looked like it had rusted or coroded slightly and one of the connectors was slightly loose. Fiddled about with it a bit and then tested the lights. Amazingly everything seems to be working fine and as it should for now.

I will probably change the bulbs at sometime pretty soon but for now they seem to be okay.
