Headlights - Are they meant to be useless?

Hi all,

The headlights in my 55 plate Almera are practiaclly useless, driving down country roads at night I can barely see a car length in front of me unless I blind oncoming drivers with full beam. My local dealer said there was nothing wrong with them but I fail to believe these days headlights could be so crap - just wondering if anybody else has experienced this with their cars?

im sure someone posted on here the other day saying the p2 n16 has problems with the headlights were the reflective piece deteriates, could be that

got the problem wrong but i think condensation would cause some drop in lighting, may be that condensation in yours has caused another problem?

iv had 2 almeras p1 and p2 and the lights r pants..

From 53 reg onwards there is a recall out for faulty headlamps. Get your dealers to check for you.

I`ve always found the N15`s h/lights pretty good.

Same here, i run with Phillips GT150 bulbs for good measure but the beam itself is very good as standard. N16's however are shite as standard. Get the dealer to upgrade your bulbs under warranty if you can blag it.
