Hi there! I have tried to post this on the problems and fixes to no avail. My 2001 almera e has a heater fault, the fan only comes on when the engine has been running for a while and warmed up, once on it works fine! I have had the dash off and it's not the dial, Nissan have no idea (or won't say) and I have spoken to auto electricians who also have no idea. As I have no manual don't know the system. Any help would be appreciated Thanks Al

Thanks!

Cheers Guys! I have ordered a heater card so fingers crossed  I can't take this cold weather much longer! If not that it must be the fan motor but I'll let u know

Thanks for all your help I'd have gone loopy otherwise :)

Heater Switch Update!!!

I have had a new heater card from Nissan still no fan, also tried two new who switch panels which also didn't work I'm now looking for a wiring manual to see if there is a relay or fuse between the switch and the fan???? We think something is loose as once when we got out of the car and shut the passenger door the fan started to work
I called Nissan who want to charge £69+vat per hour to just look and they don't use a Nissan sparky just a contracted in auto electrician.... they couldn't guarantee how long it would take to find the problem
surely it can't be that complicated the wiring runs from the fuse box to the switch to the heater card to the fan.... I'm so close to ripping the dash out HELP!!!!

hi this may seem silly but have you tried a fluke multi meter from beging to end and worked towards each other to find where you are losing the connection.

Hi to everyone. Sorry for going slightly off topic but while the subject of heaters is being discussed i was wondering if someone could tell me how difficult it is to remove and lube up the heater fan on a 2001 N16 1.5 as mine is a bit noisy (particularly on speed 1) Thanks :)

Hi if you havent had your heater fixed yet then check the earths behind the front passangers kick pannel, make sure they are clean paint free and tight. Most problems with electrics on Nissans are due to the earths, ask any Nissan field engineer.

Hi guys, Ended up at Nissan they put it down to a burnt out relay behind the fuse box tried to charge £167 2hrs labour plus relay however after my darling wife had a go they dropped it to one hour total cost £95.99 still a rip off but at least we now have heat!
It could well have have been an earth Trevor?? Thanks for the advice but I've only just read your thread we had the whole lot off and checked all the connection but now I'll never know....
Anyway I hope this will help anyone who has a similar problem the relay is on the back of the fuse box just needs the panel out and the fuse box then slots in! Nice n easy when you know how and where!!!
Thanks again everyone!
