Hello All, Another Newbie!

Yeah downrodeo, Ive noticed your car in a thread recently and have to say well done for a standard white si the gti alloys suit it very well! Thanks Guys.

Hi there shaggy, Thank you very much for the offer! Il have to think about that one as insurance company might not be too pleased. Also i am pretty broke, im just about keeping up with petrol costs. In the last few weeks its been Mot time and Road tax, on top of that spent £100 for a clutch and fitting (clutch brand exedy). Finally the week just gone ive had the mid pipe and back box replaced and a well due service, Hectic or what!

Cheers mate :) I'm keeping it relatively standard as it's really more of a long distance cruiser for me, so economy overrides performance at the moment. But yeah, yours is looking much better already with the new bumper and the alloys. Look forward to seeing what else you're going to do.

Yeah you always have phases where all your money seems to disappear when cars are involved!!
Once you've got all the maintenance done you shouldn't have to throw too much cash at it for a long time, unless you want to, that is.
You can have the induction kit for £30 posted if you have a bit of money spare at some point mate.
And I wouldn't tell your insurance for minor mods like that :)
Car's looking good anyway, the alloys are a key upgrade, make a HUGE difference as everyone has pointed out.
Keep up the good work anyway mate :)

Whoa 30 quid thats an awesome price! Im am sure taking this into consideration id love that deep noise coming from my engine it already looks like a GTi might be sounding like one too maybe lol. Cheers Bud!

Haha yeah mate, no rush anyway, I probably won't sell it for a while lol.
Check the for sale section, there's pictures of it as well :)
The sound is pretty nice too.
Only selling up because I've had my licence revoked and I'm doing bigger things :)

Well when I first had it I was pretty disappointed with its power, as I came from a 1.0l micra, that actually felt nippier when I first drove the mera!!
But my almera had been in storage for 2 years, and needed a good service, and a new clutch. After I got it all serviced and a new clutch in there, things just got better and better.
The car began to drive smoother, more consistent power also.
The mods I did also further added to the experience.
The GTi alloys with better tires made it a lot better.
Lowering also made the car feel a lot more stable, predictable and its handling capabilities actually suprised me. Not to mention the looks haha.
Its easy to make an almera a lot of fun to drive :)

Welcome to the club. Looks like you've started making some nice subtle mods already. Keep it up. I have to agree with shaggy that lowering doesn't only improve looks but make the handling so much better. I regret taking my springs off now:(.

They were bottoming out or knocking all the time going over a bump at the back and it was driving me crazy. Put new shocks on and it was still happening. So i took them off.
