Hello all! Please be gentle

Hello everyone, i have owned a 2000 X reg Almera 2.2 Turbo Diesel for 12 months now,it won't win any drag races mind you but once wound up she moves along nicely, and it is in mint condition. It has cost me no more than tax and fuel to keep here sweet! Until now that is.

The N/S CV boot was found to be split at MOT and i am changing it myself. Can anyone advise the torque setting for the front hub nut, as i have asked my very nice  Main dealer who very abruptly told me that they do not give that sort of info out and hung up on me....

Thanx in advance
Lee

Ps Nice easy to use website

Hi there, I've heard very good things about the Diesel N16s.

Is there a haynes manual for the N16? It may be in there.
After a bad personal experience I wont do CV boots again lol, I just take the driveshaft off and take it down to a garage, £10 later its fixed!

As regards hub nuts, I just do them up tight as I can and they havent fallen off yet!

AutoData says hub nut torque to be 255 - 333 Nm so pretty funking tight.

As suggested, as tight as you can will be about right. Don't forget to renew the split pin.

Oh and welcome.

I believe the torque setting is known as 'FT' for hub nuts.
Tucking Fight.

Welcome to ze forum.
