Hi everyone my name is Sam. Just got myself a pulsar (N15) 1.6 saloon Im not to sure on what the model is as at first before i bought the car i thought it was a primera(The guy i bought it off told me it was a primera 1.6 GX) But noticed it says pulsar on the back. So i been doing some research on the car and basically its an import! o_O I also thought that it was running about 100bhp but i think it may also have the GA16DE engine witch is variable valve timing and produces 115bhp. Im not sure yet if it is, i will have a look again in the morning! This is my first car, never owned a nissan before so i no nothing. I have noticed that when i go above 4000rpm it does feel different so i guess that will be the variable timing kicking in witch will inderkate that it is a GA16DE!

Get some pictures up, if you're really lucky it will be a VZR with 175bhp, but it sounds interesting anyway.

So after some research I now know that this is a GA16DE engine! Feels nippy! Unfortunately I got this smartbox fitted, it tracks your speed and heavy braking and the rest of it, if I drive over the limits I get in trouble lol! But good thing about it is that my insurance is really cheep! But I might only keep the box on for a year! Not had time to give it a clean yet!
 
Welcome to the AOC.

It's no VZR but that particular GA16DE should be around 115 bhp where a normal UK spec will be 98bhp.

The VTC (bulge on the left side of the rocker cover) is for emissions allegedly. The extra power comes from a better cylinder head and inlet manifold.

I'm well chuffed its letting out 115bhp! There is a view issues I got though! 1 the alternator bearings have gone on it so its making a horrible noise! 2 I think I need new spark plugs as when I put my foot down it will lose power for a split second, it only seems to do it if I suddenly gas it! I know it's not the clutch as there is a new one all ready fitted! 3 the wiper motor went on it so I have sorted that out but in stage one it will stop in random places...?? Stage 2, 3 is fine. 4 I need a new fuel sensor as its not reading probably! 5 (lol yes it goes on) my mileage reading sometimes works and most of the time it doesn't! Witch out of everything I have listed that is the most frustrating thing!!!
Other than that it's great!! Lol
 
It really looks like its got a VVT pulley under that bulge? There's even a solonoid too? Like the look of the car, masses of potential with that!
 
Can't beat a nice beading shot, I'm sure we had a thread on here dedicated to them.

Nice ride, good to see something a bit different.
