Just to say hello.
I'm a proud owner of a black N16 2.2DCi SXE. Has a couple of probs that you lot can hopefully help me with!

The worst has to be the power loss, sometimes when I put my foot down in 5th or 6th I lose power when I get to 3000rpm (obviously on a private road :)) I don't get any engine warning lights and it doesn't always happen! Anyone got any ideas?

Also my drivers seat is broken anyone know a good place to get spares except Nissan or has anyone taken there standard seats out and fitted aftermarket ones that would part with them for a few beer tokens (I've got the black interior)?
 
You might wanna be a bit more specific about exactly how the seat's broken! ;)

You got any pics of where it's broken or what part?
 
The recline mechanism has broken the previous owner has had a go at fixing it and only suceeded in removing parts and not replacing them!!
I have no handle to adjust the recline on the seat and the inner edge is slightly more inclined the the outer edge so it can get uncomfortable after a while! I don't know what else has been removed.
 
Welcome along Greg, sounds fairly annoying alright. I had a bit of hassle with my seat, is yours a 3 or 5 door? Mine was a 3 and the seat wouldn't lean forward for me to let somebody in the back...
 
Your powerloss sounds like a known issue with your engine. There was a recall on these in 2005. Mine's going in to a Nissan dealer in a few days for a few recall fixes; headlights and ECU (probably will fix my smoke problem).

Specifically: "Concern related to the Engine Management System has been identified. This can lead to a lack of power, poor acceleration response, black smoke from the exhaust and/or whistling noise".

Recall fixes are free at any Nissan dealer.
