Hello All

hey all, I've just joined the AOC, I currently live in New Zealand (so we call them Pulsars down here) and I drive a Black VZ-R (Pics to come soon:)).

But I struggle to find information on my Car on the net, and going into car stores is no help cause guys usually end up coming outside with me to check I haven't got the engine name wrong! "SR16VE are you sure? Never heard of one????" So yea, might look at joining soon, so I can browse the members sections and see how much help I can get when I need it

Hey welcome to the forum :-) and if the pulsar is a VZR then it uses a SR16VE

it uses VVL which is similar to Vtec but better :-) there are some VZR's on the forum here :-)

Oh, yea sorry I know. I was just grumbling about the lack of knowledge or information on them. When I went into a car store and said " I would like ... for an N15 Pulsar with an SR16VE engine" and that was the reply I got "SR16VE are you sure?? Never heard of them" I had 3 people from the same store come outside and check under my bonnet to make sure I wasn't someone who didn't know what they were talking about

Yep, I was/am a real Vtec fan and I ended up buying a VZ-R because I could fit 2 mountain bikes in the back (unlike the Civic which has a smaller shell) and never looked back since! I love it. That and over here in New Zealand the VTec label is much more well known and dealers charge you an arm for an SiR, or arm and a leg for anything with a Type R badge! But enough about Honda's and why I didn't end up buying one.

Did look at Autech Pulsars with the SR20DE in them, but was really keen on something with variable valve timing, then one day at a dealers I saw this thing with the bonnet up and the Neo Engine cover on Display. Took it for a test and said "I'll have one of those thanks :)

Welcome to the club. You could try the SR20 forum they have a lot of useful information about the VZ-R's.
Any airfilter for the SR20DE should fit the VZ-R without any major probs, might need to fabricate a mounting bracket.
