Hello all!

Hi :)

Not got a Nissan Almera as of yet but I am looking! I love the look of a GTi (not sure on ph1 or 2 yet! Whats best?). Loved the GTi since a young age and being insurance group 14 is it, I think I can stretch to it maybe now. Are they good on reliability as I'm coming from a Honda :O

Also, just seen the newer Almera (2.2 DCI (136ps) Diesel)... 8.9 0-60? Pretty impressive! Are they any good?

Heres my Civic if anyone is interested :D

liking the look of the civic :). the Gti is a solid a car as you will find mate im on my second now and reliability is not an issue.
out of intrest what has made you come from the dark side to nissan?

welcome to the club

Civic looks nice, 1.4? It's all preferance on what you prefer....as your coming from a Honda background the N15 is definately the one to go for. The GTi is very similar to a EK4.

They are bulletproof as you'd expect...unless you take it apart like me, then regret it. haha

lol thanks. Yeah I'm 19 almost 20 and the civic was my first car so it is a 1.4. Does 0-60 in about 9.5/10sec with the mods on her (breathing/exhaust etc) which ain't to bad. Shes abit loud with the tanabe system tho :( haha.

When I was a kid I loved the GTi, kind of a childhood thing of wanting to have one (dont ask! It wasn't lambos for me......). I like he Suzuki Swift oldschool GTi too but its abit to old for me. Think it would blow up :P. Honda's are nice and I like the Mod scene with them but I just fancy a change. An EK4 is silly money for a good one (£3-4k) when you can pick a GTi Almera up for less then half that I've seen. Thats not to mention the insurance group of them plus the Honda insurance hike they come with! guh!

Plus I see one pass me every day (Ph1) in red and I stop and have to breath slowly haha.

Arches, Sills, pull up the carpet in the boot and check the arches inside as well.
A P2 has (in theory at least) less of a chance of being rusty, and generally sell for a little more.
If I was buying again, I`d take my time to find a good one, then underseal it thoroughly.

Don`t mean to put you off at all though, GTis are a properly reliable car, and very good value as well:)

Ahh ok. The only other cars I like are JDM EG Civics (D15b version with 130odd bhp) and that has rust issues so its not such a difference and the AE111 Levins which would probably be more to insure so GTi I think it will be!

Whats the fuel econ like?

And for a good one say around '00 plate what would I be looking at paying?

ta :D

Not true that P2s are less rusty. The only thing that a P2 has that is superior is the bodykit is a lot more solid and less prone to cracking etc. I've seen P2s with more holes than the titanic and P1s with mint bodyshells.
In one of my recent posts I've listed all the places to check for rust :)

dont want to take it on track. did once, hated it. GTis are amazing value for money so if it gets knocked I dont care anywhere near as much as this. Im not selling the s2000. Never going todo that :).
