Im new to the site so if i do anything wrong please let me know. I currently drive an n14 and i am looking to buy an n15 gti, looking for a bit of advice on fuel economy and perfomance etc. I am hoping you guys can help me with this info thanks.

Performance wise GTI's have around 143bhp standard, 0-60 is about 7.5-8 seconds if i remember correctly and top speed is around 130. Add an exhaust and air filter you'll be looking at around 150bhp.

Fuel economy, i think the average is around 250 a tank, depending how you drive. It might not sound much but N15's dont have a massive tank, I filled mine with optimax the other day from empty to full and it was about 38 quid.

They're fun to drive and you wont regret getting one. What sort of age are you looking at? Personally (not being biased) id go for a 98 on model, exactly the same engine but a few cosmetic differences.

well thanks for the reply hally, im actually looking for the same shape that you ve already got ideally on a T reg but its gotta be in black! i think the few cosmetic difference on this shape appeal to me more than the phase 1. Its proving to be a little difficult in tracking one down especially at this time of the year, no body wants to release the beast.

Yeah, mines a 98 S-plate, bought it in March and love it, never regretted getting it for a second. There is hardly any for sale at the best of times, i waited three months for a silver one to appear (very rare colour) and ended buying this one, but black is amazing if its kept clean!

Good luck finding one, keep an eye on the trader web site and the for sale section in here, one will crop up sooner or later.
 
ive got black phase 2 on a T plate 99 any yeh its a lovley looking car but has the be cleaned regularly. good look on ur search took me about a month to find one this summer. for the price though you wont find anything better.

Hey guys thanks for the replys, still on my search to find n15 gti. I ve been looking on the autotrader website for the last 2 months but they seem to be the phase 1 model in red and their all down south, which is a bit of a treck for a northerner like me. keep me posted guys!
