hi just joined up today have a black phase 2 gti looking for a few more horses,got a cat back powerflow and thats it,is the manifold the best thing to do next would anyone recommend a de-cat? if so what is the best manifold to go for and also what is the best air filter/induction?

Hey there, the most readily available manifold is probably the SSAutochrome or XS power one which can be found on ebay. A decent air filter like an apexi or BMC CDA will also free things up a bit. Then cams, etc, but do the easy stuff first! A good search (And membership to access all the areas) will help loads!

welcome to the aoc mate, as corbs already said, do the easy stuff first, i would recommend a decat, check the for sale section, they come up now and again!
 
turbocharge the mofo lol... a new manifold, downpipe, decat and a bigger full exhaust system will give you the odd few extra, lighter flywheel etc.

for every 1kg turning in the engine, due to the extra force needed to turn, it makes that part weigh 9kg in total.

for the wheels, every 1kg weighs 10kg, so half the weight of your wheels and it's lke taking a full size adult out of your car

the front seats are heavy too, get some lighter ones lol, i noticed a big big difference taking all my seats out (apart from mine of course) and spare wheel, the pull from 30mph was more than i had initially expected
