Just bought my first Almera, have to say compaired to the French rubbish i usaually drive i love it !!
here is a couple of pics

plan for the car is just to lower it 40mm, apart from that i am keeping it standard as it is my every day runner, here is a couple of snaps of my play car !

hey, welcome! im only new too! but got the same idea as you, gotta lower mine, could fit my head in the spaces over the wheels of my almera 2!

Ah nice one mate, obviously thrown some money at that then :)
Thought it would have had a bit more power tho :/ as my mates Saxo VTS made 142bhp with just exhaust & filter!
Bet it flies though..
But here's the question..; whats quicker.. The Pug or the GTi?

Have to say the Pug mate by far, 0-60 is about 4 and a half seconds, when i can get grip ! lol
 
Haha gutted.. What about handling wise.
The Saxo always seems a bit twitchy and light rear ended to me..
Whats it like in comparison ?

the almera prob handles just as good in standard form as my 106 does with 400 quids worth of suspension and upgraded ARB's Etc, so well impressed and its such a better built car ! Rear end on the 106 can be very twitchy, expecially when like mine the rear is stripped as there is just no weight to keep it gripping, and the cage does make is slightly worse, but makes the chassis so much stiffer !

Also can anyone recommend some springs ? looking at Spax just cos of the price, but dont want to ruin the already good handling, is it worth saving up a little more and going for H&R's ? i know they are good used them before but a little pricy !

personally, however others would disagree.

but then others would disagree with the ride on others aswell. so it's up to you

my own personal recomendation is PI
 
Wow, its as good as the 106 with all that money spent on suspension :) that sounds good mate haha.
And there's a big thread somewhere all about different suspension options, its best you read that to make up your mind, as it covers all brands and options in detail.

Check out the FK ones at the site I mentioned. If their coilies are anything to go by, they'll be pretty good. Also, I was under the impression that H&R springs were usually dark grey/black but when mine were delivered, they were powder-coated red. Maybe something to do with partnership with FK? (not sure, maybe someone else can confirm?) Not complaining though, match my BEAST a treat :lol:
