Hello from an NPOC Elite Member......Now in an Almera :)

Hi guys, just thought i'd post up and say hi :)

As an Elite member on NPOC and an owner of 2 (broken) Primera GT's........ I have just bought a 1995 Almera 1.4 SI as a cheap runaround until I can finish the engine swap in the GT's

Bought it with a long mot and tax till feb, thing is its got a slight oil leak that seems to be from the near the sump :confused:

The previous owner said its fine and needs topping up bout every two weeks, and in the mot history its had an "oil leak" advisory since 2007, so this really doesn't bother me too much as long as I keep an eye on it i'm guessing it should be fine? is this a known problem?? and is their an easy and cheap way to fix this.

Welcome :)

And about the oil, if it's on the oil pump side then I think it's a worn crankshaft oil seal, had the same problem. Cheap to repair if you can get the oil pump off by yourself.
 
Or if the sump is leaking, then there should be plenty of GA14 engines around the scrappies nowdays or just buy another, unless its just the gasket :)
