Hello World via Sat Nav

Hi
just got 2004 SVE and wondering about getting updated map dvd for the sat nav/navigation system.
First problem - where is the sat nav dvd player?
Are all the Nissan navigation disks the same or are they specific to the car.
Seen X-Trail system in the past which was similar to the BirdView system I have

Any advice appeciated

I am not sure if you can get a update for the maps.

the sat nav dvd player is in the center console below the cd player
 
Darren's right, the Sat Nav DVD should be housed under the CD player, or at least it is in SXE's anyway.

Mines a 2005 model, but I think the software is slightly older than that. With regards to updating the software, your best bet is Nissan. If it is available, it wont be cheap !!
